Inmate Arrested for Violating Order In Ontario County

SHARE NOW

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Canandaigua man was arrested last week for violating an order of protection while already in custody.

Investigators say 27-year-old Juan Carlos Reyes-Rodriquez was taken into custody last Wednesday at the Ontario County Jail in Hopewell. Authorities determined that Reyes-Rodriquez had been using a third party to send messages to the protected party, violating the order of protection.

Because Reyes-Rodriquez had a prior qualifying conviction within the past five years, he was charged with aggravated family offense, as well as criminal contempt in the second degree. He remained in custody at the Ontario County Jail and was scheduled for arraignment in CAP Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
