The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Geneva woman was arrested last week in connection with a burglary investigation at the Walmart store in the Town of Geneva.
Deputies say 55-year-old Annmarie Foe was taken into custody on January 16 after investigators determined she had previously been formally trespassed from all Walmart properties by Walmart Asset Protection and was not permitted to be inside the store.
Despite that prior notice, authorities allege Foe entered the Walmart without permission and concealed merchandise by placing items between two reusable shopping bags. Deputies say she then walked past all points of sale without paying for the items, which were valued at $50.73.
As a result of the investigation, Foe was charged with burglary in the third degree.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
