State Senator Pam Helming announced Sunday that she is running for re-election, emphasizing affordability, opportunity, and results for residents of the 54th Senate District.
Speaking to supporters in Macedon, Helming said her campaign is focused on the effort to make life more affordable for the residents of Upstate New York. She highlighted priorities including local jobs, tax relief, and accessible public services.
“Opportunity means jobs that stay local. Affordability means fighting costs that hit families and seniors the hardest. Results mean showing up, doing the work, and bringing real solutions back home,” Helming said.
Since taking office, Helming has pushed for Upstate New York to receive a fair share of state resources for healthcare, education, and infrastructure, while opposing policies that raise taxes, fees, and utility costs. She has also supported local farmers, veterans, first responders, and public safety initiatives.
Helming pointed to recent investments in her district, including grants for village water and wastewater improvements, environmental protections in the Finger Lakes, and funding for Rochester Regional Health to upgrade technology and safeguard patient information.
Helming highlighted her support for local dairy farmers and the governor’s new manufactured home program, which she helped develop legislation for, saying it will provide relief for families in her district.
“Every day, I hear from constituents about the high cost of utilities, healthcare, and everyday expenses,” Helming said. “I work with my colleagues to advance common-sense solutions that bring relief to families and businesses.”
The 54th Senate District includes Ontario, Livingston, and Wayne counties, and the Monroe County towns of Chili, Mendon, Riga, Rush, and Wheatland. Helming has received endorsements from local Republican leaders, including committee chairs from Ontario, Wayne, Livingston, and Monroe counties, praising her work on tax relief, small business support, and local control.
