Watkins Glen firefighters were called to a reported chimney fire on Reading Road Sunday afternoon. The call came in at approximately 2:50 p.m.
Car 19 arrived on the scene and confirmed a small chimney fire, prompting a request for Ladder 29. Units from WGFD, including Ladder 29, Engine 33, and Rescue 56, responded to the scene, while Montour Fire was placed on standby with an engine crew.
Firefighters were able to sweep the chimney and clear the blockage quickly. All units were cleared from the scene by 3:01 p.m., and no injuries were reported.
