The Keuka College men’s basketball team came up just short in a hard-fought matchup against the St. John Fisher Cardinals, falling 60-56.
Lamar Lovelace (Rochester, N.Y./Northeast College Prep) led the Wolves with a game-high 21 points.
Keuka College (6-8, 3-2 E8) opened the game on a 9-2 run, but St. John Fisher (8-6, 4-1 E8) answered with an 11-4 run to tie the score at 13 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half. Lovelace then fueled a 10-2 spurt, giving Keuka an eight-point advantage with seven minutes left before halftime. Despite the Cardinals keeping the game close, the Wolves led 33-27 at the break.
The second half began with both teams trading baskets, and Keuka pushed its lead to 10 points as Caleb Nutifafa (Elmsford, N.Y./Alexander Hamilton) scored six of his eight points in the opening five minutes. St. John Fisher stayed within striking distance before going on a 10-0 run to tie the game at 48 with just under eight minutes remaining. After three more ties, the Cardinals pulled ahead with four minutes left and held on for the win. Keuka had a few opportunities to force overtime but was unable to convert.
The opening minutes of the game featured fast-paced scoring from both sides, with the teams tied at 11-11 within the first five minutes. Lovelace led the early charge, contributing nine points in that stretch.

- Makya Morrison (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) recorded two blocks, tying him for 10th all-time in blocks for a season with 27
- Morrison also grabbed 10 rebounds, surpassing 100 on the season
