Deputies say the crash happened around 3:00 p.m. on State Route 14, south of South Genesee Street. The vehicle involved is described as a black 2017 Audi four-door sedan with Pennsylvania license plates.

According to investigators, the vehicle had been traveling southbound on Route 14 from the Watkins Glen area toward the Schuyler–Chemung County line prior to the crash.

As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help. Anyone who was traveling in the area at the time and may have witnessed the crash or observed the vehicle beforehand is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 607-535-8225, email [email protected], or send a message through the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Authorities say even minor details could be important in determining what led up to the crash.

It was not disclosed how many people were in the car, who suffered an injury and the extent of the injury other than “serious.”
