SHARE NOW

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for an upcoming correction officer training and experience exam scheduled for February.

Officials said interested candidates must apply through the Seneca County Employment Portal, with a filing deadline of Jan. 31, 2026.

According to the sheriff’s office, applicants must be residents of the municipality where the appointment will be made at the time of the exam and for at least one month prior. Residency may also include a reasonable combination of municipalities, both within and outside New York State, that are contiguous to the city of appointment or to the municipality in which the appointment is located, as determined by the county personnel officer.

Officials said residency requirements may be suspended or reduced by the personnel officer in cases where recruitment difficulties make the requirement disadvantageous to the public interest.

Additional information about the position and application process is available through the county employment portal.
