Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 69-year-old Albert Carmichael, of Rushville, on Thursday following a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Middlesex.
The crash occurred at East Lake Road and Townline Road. Deputies say Carmichael displayed multiple signs of intoxication when they arrived on scene. He was taken into custody, submitted to a chemical test, and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building for processing.
Carmichael was charged with DWI and moving from his lane unsafely. He was issued tickets and released, and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
