Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Rochester men early Monday following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of fentanyl, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies arrested 26-year-old Michael Trinidad-Medina and 19-year-old Taysir Gonzalez-Fernandez on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony under New York law.
Authorities say the arrests stemmed from a routine traffic stop on State Route 96 in Victor, during which deputies located approximately 12.2 grams of fentanyl inside the vehicle.
Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where they were being held pending arraignment.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
