A Penn Yan man was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic incident in the Village of Dundee on New Year’s Eve night.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 32-year-old Christopher Castle after determining he was in violation of an active stay-away order of protection.
Castle was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Yates County Jail, where he was held pending centralized arraignment.
He is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and will appear in court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
