A Geneva man was arrested on New Year’s Eve following a reported shoplifting incident at the Walmart store in Geneva.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the complaint and determined that 66-year-old Jeffrey Lamb placed merchandise into a shopping cart and passed all points of sale without attempting to pay.
Lamb was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
