A Clifton Springs man is facing felony drunk driving charges following a crash Tuesday afternoon in Ontario County.
Deputies say 46-year-old Frank Harper was arrested after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Canandaigua–Farmington Town Line Road and County Road 28.
According to authorities, officers were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m. for a report of a property damage accident. Investigators determined Harper was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Canandaigua–Farmington Town Line Road when he failed to stop at the intersection and struck another vehicle.
During the investigation, officers say Harper was found to be intoxicated. Because of a prior DWI conviction in 2018, the current charge was elevated to a felony.
Harper was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign, and operating a motor vehicle with an open container. He was taken to the Ontario County Jail. Harper was later released and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
