A 35-year-old Farmington man has been arrested following the reported theft of a wallet from a parked vehicle at a local apartment complex.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to a larceny complaint around 9 on Sunday morning at Farmington Apartments on Mertensia Road. Investigators were told a wallet had been taken from a vehicle in the parking lot. Deputies were able to identify and locate a suspect in the area, and the stolen wallet was recovered.
Jason Ward was taken into custody and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.
Ward was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held without bail pending further action in the Town of Farmington Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
