The investigation into a domestic incident in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan man.
Police say officers responded to a residence on December 15 for a report of an ongoing physical domestic incident. Investigators allege that 51-year-old Eric Sullivan after he allegedly punched the victim multiple times, held them to the ground, and choked them.
Sullivan was charged with assault in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment in the second degree. He was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Jail to await CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
