New York State Police arrested a Romulus man following a traffic stop in the Town of Waterloo.
State Police say 52-year-old Russell Linz was taken into custody on Friday, after a trooper stopped a pickup truck on Waterloo–Geneva Road. The vehicle was observed traveling without a front license plate and with an expired inspection sticker.
An investigation determined the truck was unregistered, displaying license plates not assigned to the vehicle, and that Linz was operating with a suspended driver’s license. During a vehicle inventory, troopers discovered a loaded .22-caliber revolver inside the truck.
Linz was arrested without incident and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony. He was also issued multiple uniform traffic tickets.
Linz was processed at State Police Waterloo and transported to the Seneca County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
