A Lyons man is facing multiple felony charges following a drug investigation fueled by community tips, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they received several tips from the public about suspected drug activity at a home on Church Street in Lyons. Investigators later identified the alleged supplier and obtained search warrants for multiple residences, including a home on Water Street.
During the searches, deputies recovered more than an ounce of crack cocaine and several handguns, authorities said. One of the firearms was confirmed to be stolen, and another had its serial number defaced.
Antwan Terry was taken into custody Friday and charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, defacing the identity of a firearm, and criminal possession of stolen property. Additional charges include possession with intent to sell, according to the sheriff’s office.
Terry was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail pending further court proceedings.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
