A Seneca Falls woman has been arrested on multiple animal neglect charges.
Authorities say 52-year-old Victoria Munoz was taken into custody on December 7. She faces six counts of failing to provide proper sustenance under New York State Agriculture and Markets Law, a class A misdemeanor.
Deputies say the charges stem from an anonymous complaint in the Town of Romulus. Investigators allege Munoz left her condemned home for two days without providing food, water, or shelter for her two dogs and four cats. During that time, temperatures reportedly dropped as low as 8 degrees. Deputies coordinated with Beverly’s Animal Shelter to remove the animals, and no injuries or medical concerns were reported.
Munoz was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Romulus Town Court on January 23.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
