A Macedon woman is facing charges after investigators say she spent years taking money from her own mother.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says 64-year-old Susan McConnell was arrested after a larceny investigation. Deputies say that from September 2022 through April 2025, McConnell allegedly took her mother’s checks, forged her signature, and wrote the checks out to herself. In all, investigators believe she stole about $43,700.
They say the scheme went on for years without her mother knowing.
McConnell was taken to the Wayne County Jail and was released following her arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
