East Hill Medical Center Hosting 2nd Holiday Bedding Drive

SHARE NOW

East Hill Medical Center has launched its second Holiday Bedding Drive to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

East Hill is collecting new twin-sized sheets, comforters, pillows, throw blankets, and stuffed animals to support Sleep in Heavenly Peace in its mission to ensure children in the community have a cozy place to sleep.

“This bedding drive reflects our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of children, even beyond the walls of our medical center,” East Hill’s Communications Coordinator, Brianna Muldrow said. “A good night’s sleep is foundational to a child’s overall well-being, and we are proud to unite with SHP to help give the gift of a good night’s sleep.”

East Hill has offered three ways to give this holiday season:

  1. Visit East East Hill’s 144 Genesee St or 13 N Fulton St locations in Auburn and select a gift tag with a specific bedding request to purchase and return
  2. Bring new bedding to either East Hill location
  3. Purchase items from Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s Amazon Wishlist

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit that works with community partners to construct and deliver beds, along with bedding, to children in need.

“Here in America, most of us take something as simple as having a bed for granted. We rarely stop to think that 2 to 3% of children are sleeping on something other than a bed of their own,” NY-Auburn Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace President Drew Scaharoun said. “We are incredibly grateful that this holiday season East Hill Medical Center is partnering with the us to help ensure every child in our community has a safe, warm bed to call their own.”

The drive runs now through December 26. Anyone with questions or looking to schedule a donation drop-off is asked to call 315-253-8477.
