SHARE NOW

A man from Guatemala is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a pellet gun at law enforcement during a disturbance in Livingston County on Sunday evening.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home in the Town of Groveland for a report of a firearm-related disturbance. Deputies, along with New York State Police, approached the residence and saw a man exit the front door holding an object.

Investigators say the man, identified as 22-year-old Limber Jimenez, fired at least one round from what they described as a “high-powered pellet gun” as officers approached.

Jimenez was taken into custody and charged with:

  • Attempted first-degree assault
  • First-degree reckless endangerment
  • Menacing a police officer or peace officer
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Following his arrest, Jimenez was arraigned in Livingston County CAP Court at the county jail. He was remanded on $15,000 cash bail or $75,000 bond.

The sheriff’s office said no injuries were reported.
