Neighbors across nine counties helped raise more than $938,000 during this year’s ROC the Day, the region’s annual 24-hour online fundraising event organized by the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes. The daylong fundraiser, held on Tuesday, marked its 15th anniversary.
About 500 nonprofits participated, representing a wide range of services including education, human services, community development, the arts, animal welfare, environmental programs, health organizations, and faith-based missions.
According to the United Way, the 2025 campaign brought in $938,138 through donations, challenge grants, and sponsorships. Erin Bombard, the organization’s Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, said the event continues to show the impact the community can make in a single day.
Since it began in 2011, ROC the Day has generated more than $13 million to support hundreds of nonprofits across the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region.
Participants were able to browse a catalog of local organizations and donate to multiple groups through a single online checkout.
