A Steuben County man is facing charges after an investigation into allegations of long-term sexual abuse involving a teenager.
State Police say they were contacted by Steuben County Child Protective Services on November 12th after a 15-year-old reported ongoing abuse. Investigators determined the alleged incidents happened over several years at a home in Campbell and later executed a search warrant at the residence. 35-year-old Allen Jerome is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree rape and course of sexual conduct against a child. He’s also charged with strangulation, tampering with evidence, and aggravated family offense.
Jerome was taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment. An order of protection is being requested for the victim.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
