The Keuka College women’s basketball team picked up a road victory on Saturday, defeating Hilbert College 65-57 in a non-conference matchup.

Keuka College (4-2) was led by Lillian Mullen (Canisteo, N.Y. / Canisteo-Greenwood), who scored a team-high 15 points. Brooke Burd (Canisteo, N.Y. / Canisteo-Greenwood) continued her strong season, recording her third consecutive double-double and fourth of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wolves quickly established control early in the game. After Hilbert opened with the first three points, Keuka scored 11 straight to take the lead, capped by a three-pointer from Mullen. Keuka led by as many as 12 in the first quarter and entered the second quarter with an 18-9 advantage.

The Wolves extended their lead in the second quarter with contributions from Brooke Burd and Mary Cotter (Hershey, Pa. / Hershey). An old-fashioned three-point play by Emilee Bacon (Buffalo, N.Y. / Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart) helped Keuka open a 9-0 run, and the Green and Gold carried a 36-20 lead into halftime.

The third quarter was evenly contested, with both teams scoring 17 points, keeping Keuka’s lead at 16 heading into the fourth. Hilbert scored seven unanswered points early in the final quarter to cut the lead to 10, but Mullen responded with a three-pointer to push the advantage back to 15. Keuka maintained the lead despite an 11-0 run by the Hawks in the final minutes. A late free throw by Mary Cotter sealed the victory at 65-57.

Game Notes:
