A Steuben County man will spend the next 90 years in prison for repeatedly raping his step-daughter.
51-year-old Matthew Kapp of Howard was convicted on six counts of rape and six counts of coercion. Prosecutors say the assaults occurred between 2015 and 2019, and Kapp used threats and even forced the victim to have abortions to cover up his crimes.
Kapp received a 15-year sentence for each count of Rape, which will be served consecutively, meaning he will spend the next 90 years in prison. He received a maximum sentence of four years for each count of Coercion, which will be served concurrently with the Rape sentences.
