The second of two men involved in a January bank robbery in Port Byron has been sentenced to state prison.
49-year-old Brandon Millhoff received a sentence of three to six years on Thursday in Cayuga County Court for robbing the Savannah Bank at 126 Main Street on January 6. Judge Thomas Leone handed down the sentence for third-degree robbery, a Class D felony. Prosecutors had sought a slightly higher maximum of 3.5 to seven years.
Millhoff, of Auburn, was also sentenced to two to four years for fourth-degree grand larceny and 364 days in jail for resisting arrest. Those sentences will run concurrently.
Millhoff pleaded guilty in February.
The first suspect, Weldon Malone Jr., also of Auburn, was sentenced in September to two to four years in state prison. Malone was arrested one day after the robbery when state police used bank surveillance footage to identify him. Millhoff was arrested three days later at Dilaj’s Motor Inn in Sennett, where he was found hiding in a common area.
Authorities did not disclose how much money was taken.
