Cato Man Arrested After Domestic Incident Involving Firearm

SHARE NOW

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Cato man was arrested on November 15 following a domestic incident involving a firearm.

Deputies say 58-year-old James Daly menaced a woman with a shotgun at her residence in the Town of Cato on November 14. After the victim reported the incident, investigators determined there was probable cause to file charges.

A warrant for third-degree menacing, a Class B misdemeanor, was issued, and Daly was taken into custody the following morning at his home. He was arraigned, and a full stay-away order of protection was issued.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
