A man who was investigated after an incident that occurred while he was previously being processed into the Ontario County Jail has been arrested for the criminal possession of a narcotic drug.
On Monday, 36-year-old Jeffrey Kearns of Dresden was arrested in relation to the incident that occurred on Aug. 20 earlier this year. During his processing for a separate charge, Kearns attempted to conceal large amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine in the facility.
Kearns is currently in custody and being held without bail on his other charges. He will answer this charge in the Hopewell Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
