The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Newark man on a bench warrant.
33-year-old Robert Wells, Junior was arrested early Wednesday morning at Byrne Dairy on E. Union Street. Sheriff’s deputies say Wells was taken into custody around 1 o’clock on a bench warrant issued by Manchester Town Court. The warrant came after reports that he was in the custody of the Newark Police Department.
Wells was then transported to the Ontario County Jail to await CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
