Both Drivers Ticketed Following Two-Car Collision in Ontario County

SHARE NOW

A rollover crash in the town of Hopewell sent one person to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened at the intersection of State Route 488 and Freshour Road. Investigators say Julie Fuhry, of Macedon, was driving south on Freshour Road and had stopped at the stop sign before entering Route 488. As she pulled onto the roadway, her Chevrolet sedan collided with an eastbound pickup truck driven by William Russ, of Bloomfield.

The impact forced Russ’s truck off the road, where it hit a utility pole and rolled onto its side. A passenger in Fuhry’s vehicle was taken to Thompson Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies issued Russ a ticket for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Fuhry was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
