For the sixth year in a row, the Hobart College football team is heading to the postseason. The Statesmen will travel to SUNY Maritime for the ECAC James Lynah Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 22. Game time and ticket details are expected to be released on Tuesday.

Hobart finished the regular season at 5–5, winning its final four games. The Statesmen went 4–3 in Liberty League play and led the conference in total defense, allowing just 267.9 yards per game.

In their regular-season finale, Hobart rolled past Buffalo State 35–9. Junior running back E.J. Taylor and senior linebacker Mike McGhee were standouts and were named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll. Taylor posted his sixth straight 100-yard rushing performance with 173 yards and three touchdowns, while McGhee tallied a game-high 12 tackles—his third double-digit outing of the season.

Maritime also finished 5–5 and went 3–4 in NEWMAC play. The Privateers enter the bowl matchup looking to bounce back from a 23–7 loss to conference champion Springfield.

This marks the first-ever meeting between Hobart and Maritime on the football field. It will be Hobart’s 17th postseason appearance since 2000 and the program’s sixth bowl game overall. Under seventh-year head coach Kevin DeWall ’00, the Statesmen are 3–2 in bowl games.
