A Rochester woman was taken into custody Wednesday evening on a bench warrant out of Ontario County.
Deputies say 21-year-old Zamaria Coats was arrested without incident after being released from the Monroe County Jail.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the warrant was issued after Coats failed to appear in Victor Town Court on a petit larceny charge. She was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where she’s being held on bail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
