Following the investigation into a larceny that occurred July 24 earlier this year at the Canandaigua Walmart in the Town of Hopewell, 34-year-old Christina Elizabeth McCloud-Evans has been arrested.
It was reported that McCloud-Evans had worked in concert with two other suspects to steal merchandise from the store. At the time of the theft, McCloud-Evans had a juvenile in her presence. Deputies determined that there was an order of protection in place protecting the juvenile from McCloud-Evans.
She was arrested Friday afternoon without incident and charged with petit larceny, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt. McCloud-Evans was transported to the Ontario County jail, where she was held to await arraignment at CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
