SHARE NOW

Seneca County residents will have the chance to get up to speed on the latest changes to New York’s gun laws during an upcoming informational session hosted by Sheriff Timothy Thompson, Jr.  Saturday’s session will be held at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center in Romulus.

The free event will provide updates and guidance on several firearms-related topics, including:

  • Recent changes to New York State gun laws
  • The pistol permit application process
  • Best practices for legally armed citizens during police encounters
  • Updated hunting regulations
  • A discussion with local firearms dealers

The session is open to all Seneca County residents aged 18 and older. Minors may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Because of limited space, attendees are asked to register in advance by contacting Confidential Assistant Ashley Denmark at [email protected] or by calling (315) 220-3403.

Participants should park in the visitor lot and enter through the main lobby of the Law Enforcement Center, located at 6150 Route 96, Romulus.

“We look forward to connecting with the community while providing this critically important information,” Sheriff Thompson said. “We recognize that it can be difficult to keep up with the law changes and hope that this event will prove helpful for those we serve.”
