The New York State Police are investigating the theft of a marked patrol vehicle that was reported stolen early Wednesday morning.
Troopers from the State Police Oneonta barracks responded after learning that a local repair shop had been burglarized overnight. A State Police vehicle that had been in for service was among the items taken from the premises.
The vehicle was later found and recovered in Rensselaer County, within Troop G’s area of responsibility. A person discovered inside the vehicle was taken into custody and is currently being interviewed by investigators.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
