Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County invites community members to its 2025 Annual Meeting on Wednesday, November 19th, from 6:00–7:30 PM at Outlet 111 Wine Bar in Penn Yan. The event will celebrate a year of community impact, connection, and collaboration.
Attendees will enjoy a catered dinner, a cash bar, a silent auction with locally sourced prizes, trivia, and interactive activities. The evening will also feature recognition of CCE-Yates’ 2025 accomplishments, award presentations, and the introduction and election of Board of Directors nominees.
This year’s nominees for the 12-member Board of Directors are Steve Delahunty of Penn Yan, Katie Lafler of Middlesex, and Klaas Martens of Penn Yan. Residents will also have the opportunity to vote on proposed updates to the organization’s constitution, ensuring it aligns with current statewide guidelines and community needs.
The featured speaker for the evening is Austin Fingar, Farm Manager at Red Jacket Orchards in Geneva. Fingar, a 2016 Penn Yan Academy graduate and 2020 Cornell University alumnus, will present “Yates County Agriculture,” discussing local grape production, market trends, and conservation practices while connecting local farms to statewide agricultural efforts.
The dinner menu includes marinated chicken with rice, cornbread, mixed green salad, and roasted green beans. Beverages include water, lemonade, and cider. Guests with dietary restrictions are encouraged to notify staff during registration.
The 2025 Annual Meeting is a chance for Yates County residents to learn more about CCE-Yates programs and initiatives that strengthen local communities, support agriculture, and empower residents throughout the county.
