He skipped court, crossed state lines, and now he’s back in an Ontario County jail.
Former Geneva American Legion commander Dale Mosher faces new charges after being caught in Pennsylvania earlier this month. Mosher was arraigned Thursday in Ontario County Court on felony intimidating a victim or witness — after a Geneva resident allegedly received a letter that included a death threat. It is alleged that Mosher wrote the letter.
Authorities say the 65-year-old had been on the run since mid-September, when he skipped a court date on a grand larceny charge. He’s accused of stealing more than $92,000 from the Legion post. While on the lam, Mosher took his sister’s Jeep in Tennessee before fleeing north. Mosher was arrested on October 13th at a Walmart in Pennsylvania.
He’s being held on bail, with trial on his grand larceny charge set for November 10th.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
