Ex-Geneva PD Officer Jacon Charged in Connection With Tapscott Case

SHARE NOW

A fourth person has now been charged in the case involving former Geneva Police Officer Michael Tapscott.

Former Officer Nathan Jacon was arraigned Wednesday in Ontario County Court on charges that include criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance and official misconduct. Jacon, who resigned in August after being placed on leave back in May, was released on his own recognizance and will return to court at a later date.

Prosecutors say the charges follow evidence presented to a grand jury earlier this month.

Tapscott was arraigned last week on multiple felony drug and misconduct charges. Two others — Sgt. David Felice and William McGowan — were also charged in the case with tampering with evidence. Felice, a 19-year veteran of the department, also faces drug and misconduct charges.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
