A routine traffic stop in Auburn led to drug charges for a local man on Sunday.
Police say members of the Auburn Police Department, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Probation Department were working a GIVE detail when they stopped a vehicle on Perrine Street.
Officers identified the driver as Brandon Tape. During the investigation, they say Tape was found with crack cocaine, a digital scale, cash, and drug packaging materials.
He was taken to the Auburn Police Department and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance—one a felony and one a misdemeanor.
Tape was then sent to the Cayuga County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
