Keuka Cross Country Wraps Regular Season at Hamilton College Tune-Up

The Keuka College cross country teams competed in their final tune-up before the Empire 8 Championships on Saturday, with both the women’s and men’s squads turning in strong performances at Hamilton College.


Women’s Results – 4K

The Keuka College women’s team finished fourth in the four-kilometer race with a team score of 117 and an average time of 20:34.9.

First-year runner Victoria Hirner (Buffalo, N.Y. / John F. Kennedy) once again led the Wolves, placing 32nd out of 50 with a time of 19:05.6.

KC Notes:

  • This was the fourth appearance for Keuka at the Hamilton Tune-Up, and the first time the event featured a 4K distance (previously 3K).
  • It marked the first 4K race for Hirner.
  • Lee, Olivares, Pratt, Purta, Tobia, and Walton all set personal records for the distance.

Men’s Results – 5K

The Keuka College men’s team placed sixth with a team score of 149 and an average time of 19:38.4, marking the third-best 5K meet in program history.

First-year runner Alston Hernandez (Clyde, N.Y. / North Rose-Wolcott) led the Wolves for the first time in his career, finishing 53rd in 19:03.4.

  • Saturday marked Keuka’s best-ever finish at the Hamilton Tune-Up in both placement and team score.
  • The team’s performance ranks as its best 5K since 2018, when the Wolves averaged 19:16.0 at the Houghton Short Course.
  • Jesse Bolster competed in his 26th career race, tying for sixth-most in program history.
  • Coluci and Hovater set personal bests, while Durkin, Fleming, Hernandez, Holcomb, Johnson, and Melton ran their first career 5K.
