The Palmyra Police Department has arrested 27-year-old Scott Dollar of Palmyra following an investigation into a domestic dispute that occurred on Monday evening within the Village.
Around 8:15 p.m., officers responded to a residence at 363 Johnson Street for a reported domestic incident. Police say Dollar, who was allegedly under the influence, became involved in a physical altercation with his significant other in the presence of their young child, who is under the age of three. During the dispute, he reportedly struck a female family member in the face, causing injury, and damaged property inside the home.
Before officers arrived, Dollar fled the scene and was said to have made threats that he would not surrender if located.
A large-scale search followed, involving Palmyra Police, New York State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and the Macedon Police Department. Officers used K-9 units, drones, and the department’s Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) in the search.
After several hours, Dollar was found hiding in an outbuilding nearby and taken into custody without further incident.
He was charged with:
- Assault in the Third Degree
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- Obstruction of Governmental Administration
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
