Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on Thursday, October 16, 2025, deputies arrested 29-year-old Brianna Velez of Rochester.
The arrest was made on two outstanding warrants related to a February 2024 incident. Velez had been released on an appearance ticket for petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. She failed to appear in court as required, leading to the issuance of a warrant.
In addition, Velez was ordered to maintain contact with Seneca County Probation but did not comply. Probation subsequently applied for, and was granted, a warrant for her arrest for a Declaration of Delinquency.
Velez was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment at CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
