Woman Accused of Abandoning Cat Roadside in Wayne County

SHARE NOW

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Henrietta woman following an investigation into an animal complaint.

Officials say 19-year-old Mckayla Willard allegedly adopted a cat from Lollypop Farms but was later unable to care for it. She then drove to Wayne County and abandoned the cat in a box on County House Road in Arcadia with a note attached..

Willard was charged with abandonment of animals, issued an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
