Ithaca Man Charged After Domestic Incident; Accused of Fighting With Officers

SHARE NOW

An Ithaca man was arrested early Saturday morning after reportedly violating a court order and fighting with police during a domestic incident.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 300 block of West Buffalo Street for a domestic disturbance in progress. Police say 37-year-old Timothy Daniels was taken into custody for second-degree criminal contempt after violating a lawful court order. During the arrest, Daniels allegedly kicked and shoved officers, though no injuries were reported.

He was evaluated by Bangs Ambulance at the scene before being transported to the Ithaca Police Department for processing. Daniels was charged with criminal contempt in the second degree and resisting arrest, both Class A misdemeanors.

He was later arraigned by Judge Wallace and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
