The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says a Sempronius man was arrested after nearly causing a crash with a deputy earlier this month.
Deputies say 53-year-old Lewis H. Rosekrans was driving south on East Lake Road around 9:49 p.m. on October 6th, when his vehicle crossed the center line, forcing a northbound deputy to swerve onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.
During the traffic stop, investigators determined Rosekrans was intoxicated. He was taken into custody and provided a breath sample that showed a blood alcohol content of .19 percent — more than twice the legal limit.
Rosekrans is charged with aggravated DWI, DWI first offense, and failure to keep right. He’s scheduled to appear in Owasco Town Court on October 28..
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
