A Penn Yan woman was issued a village ordinance ticket for having a dangerous dog.
Police say Jessica Thompson’s dog got loose and chased a bicyclist, biting them in the ankle and causing lacerations, bruising, and swelling. The victim also fell off the bike, striking their head on the pavement. Thompson was able to regain control of the dog and take it home.
She is scheduled to appear in Village Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
