The Keuka College men’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Elmira College on Wednesday night in Empire 8 Conference play at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

Goalkeeper Logan Karn of Caledonia made five saves for the Wolves, who fall to 1-12 overall and 1-7 in conference play.

Keuka held strong early, nearly taking the lead in the 14th minute when a header from Seneca Falls native Carson Montoney sailed just over the crossbar. Elmira broke through in the 22nd minute and added a second goal four minutes later. After missing a penalty kick, the Soaring Eagles quickly recovered, scoring again just before halftime to take a 3-0 lead into the break.

The Wolves created several chances in the second half, with Cole Santiago of Rochester testing the Elmira keeper twice off set pieces — once directly from a corner kick and again seconds later on a free kick. Despite the effort, Elmira extended its lead in the 64th minute to seal the 4-0 win.

Santiago led Keuka with three shots, including two on goal. The match was physical throughout, with officials calling 39 fouls between the two teams.

Up Next: The Wolves return home Saturday to host Russell Sage College at 3 p.m. in another Empire 8 matchup at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.
