A Hemlock woman was arrested Tuesday evening following a traffic stop in the Town of Richmond.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Kelly Snitzel was stopped near State Route 20A and County Road 36 at around 7:35 p.m. Deputies determined she was driving while intoxicated and impaired by drugs.
Officers say Snitzel was also found in possession of two types of pills not in prescription bottles, identified as a Schedule II and Schedule III controlled substance.
She was issued an appearance ticket for two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, along with multiple traffic violations, including driving while intoxicated, driving while impaired by drugs, driving while impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol, operating a vehicle without tail lights or license plate lights, and two counts of possession of an open container of alcohol or marijuana in a vehicle.
Snitzel was released and is scheduled to appear in Town of Richmond Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
