An Auburn man was arrested by the Auburn Police Department following the investigation into an alleged shoplifter at Kinney Drugs on State Street.
During the investigation, it was learned that Scott Meyer allegedly went into the store and stole approximately $55.54 worth of merchandise. Meyer was previously trespassed from all Kinney Drug Stores, prohibiting him from entering any of their stores.
Meyer was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny. He was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
