Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports the arrest of an Auburn man accused of violating an order of protection in the Town of Springport.
Deputies arrested 50-year-old Christopher Coyle Sr. on Oct. 5 on a warrant for criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
The charge stems from an investigation that began Aug. 26, when deputies received a report that Coyle had violated a full stay-away order of protection by being in the presence of the protected party. After the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued.
Coyle later turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office, where he was processed and arraigned in Cayuga County CAP Court. He is scheduled to appear in Springport Town Court at a later date.
