A Penn Yan couple has been arrested after an investigation into a burglary last summer.
Police say 38-year-old Carrie Schultz and 30-year-old Gerald Schultz allegedly broke into a home in the village on July 27th and took property from inside. Some of the stolen items were later dumped at another location in town.
Gerald Schultz is facing second-degree burglary, petit larceny, and criminal trespass. Carrie Schultz faces second-degree burglary and criminal possession of stolen property.
Both were taken to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
